Our efforts were placed on a brief pause in March 2020, due to the Covid-19 pandemic outbreak. Now as we begin to emerge from the shutdown, we have fine-tuned our fundraising efforts to align with the upcoming school year. That is, we will kick-off our efforts during our National Coffee Day Celebration in September & culminate during our annual Italian Market Festival, in May 2021.
Our theme for the year is Hope...
Hope for a better tomorrow, for a better opportunity & for an improvement in Reading Literacy for all students. Placed in the iconic formation of the Love sculpture, HOPE is spelled using a coffee bean representing our efforts to provide Hope thru love & support to all.
The Beneficiary for our efforts are the Students & Teachers at...
Our Lady of Hope Regional School in Blackwood, NJ.
Recently, this school just rebuilt after experiencing a devastating fire in March 2019 which destroyed a large portion of the building including the school library. By late September 2019, the school completely reopened only to be closed in March 2020 due to the Covid-19 shutdown. The resilience & determination of the students, teachers & staff - year after year - to continue while improving despite the odds, epitomizes the everyday efforts those with learning differences like dyslexia experience while trying to learn to read. The administration's commitment to improvement for all students & staff along with the culture to spread kindness and share hope, remains resolute despite the tremendous odds they face in a post-Covid world. Join us in congratulating them on their efforts and in helping them make improvements for years to come.

For 2020, we are more determined to expanded our efforts helping even more children with dyslexia achieve reading literacy. In celebration of our Coffee House's 25th Anniversary, our Vision is to adopt a local school that lacks the resources to provide classroom accommodations and teacher training for learning disabilities like dyslexia & provide help!
Our Inspiration

We have been inspired by the resilience and determination of a 10 year-old girl who has successfully learned to read, despite being diagnosed with dyslexia in kindergarten. Her struggles make her stronger and her persistence to overcome dyslexia continues. When provided the proper programs, proper implementation and consistent accommodations, every child with dyslexia can successfully read. Yet many simply are not afforded that opportunity.
Dyslexia is the #1 Learning Disability in our schools impacting nearly 20% of our students. Yet many students continue to be misidentified & misdiagnosed because Dyslexia is misunderstood still today. Dyslexia can be Overcome when students are given the proper reading programs, correct program timing and consistent classroom accommodations. Yet many schools lack the resources to support our teachers in providing the training & programs to help ALL students read, especially students with learning differences like Dyslexia.
The odds are you or someone you know has dyslexia...they are our children, our family members and even our friends. Their minds are the most creative & innovative and they are often the hardest working, most resilient people you know. They are our inspiration in creating this Campaign. This campaign is to honor them while helping them Overcome Dyslexia, through access to the proper programs. Join us!
